Photos from Bali 2012
People often ask "what do you love about Bali?". There are so many things aeach time we visit we find something else to love. So lets start a list. Now this is no in any particular order.
WHY WE LOVE BALI?
1. Small Temples everywhere. Bustling city street corners, roof tops, hotel gardens, restaurants, on the beach, in a side alley. Everywhere. The smell of incense is intoxicating. To see that no matter where or what Balinese people are doing, they will take time from their daily activities to present offerings. It always helps me reconnect with what is important in life.
2. Offerings. To me, this talks about being thankful for all that we have. Thankful for our families, our homes, our food, our communities, our health and our prosperity. No matter how much, or how little, a person has there are always so many things to be thankful for.
Why we love Bali ...

Families on small motorbikes going to a ceremony. For some reason this
just appeals to me. Perhaps it is seeing that people just find solutions
to challenges they face? Who knows.
4.
Magnificent sculpture. This particular piece is in the Monkey Forest
in Ubud. Due to these sculptures being made from sandstone, they often
need to be replaced. Bali still has families of artisans who can create
these wonderful pieces that adorn temples and other special places.
